Serving the Automotive Industry

WAIA is a state trade association of businesses in the automotive aftermarket industry joining together to deal with management, financial, regulatory and legislative (state & federal) matters. A great deal is accomplished through active participation in the Association.

WAIA is governed by a Board of Directors who are always acting in behalf of the membership. They serve a three year term and represent the geographical area of Washington.

Founded in 1960

The association was founded in 1960 as Washington State Automotive Wholesalers Association and grew to 106 members in 1964. In June 1972 the name was changed to Washington Automotive Wholesalers Association, thus becoming known as WAWA.  Currently the membership numbers about 200 firms.  WAIA is a non-profit corporation which and is able to offer many money-saving products and services such as bank card processing, group medical and dental plans and group buying on business forms and supplies.   An association is a reflection of its membership.  WAIA has historically had active and involved members and is a strong organization.  You are encouraged to call the WAIA office for answers to any questions you may have.
